ABOUT US

Genesis 4 is a group of four young members all under 30 years of age from the first batch of 'Green Hub Video Documentation Center' which is base in Tezpur, Assam. We represent different parts of north-east India.  As you will see our team hails from across north-east India –Jimmy Johny Kujur is from Meghalaya, Tallo Anthony is from Arunachal Pradesh, Harshavardhan Dhruva is from Assam and Wanmai Konyak is from of Nagaland.

Hi, I'm Harshavardhan Dhruva

I am from Guwahati, Assam and I love to travel to see new places and meet new people.

It was at Green Hub that I got the chance to do exactly this. I was always fascinated with photography and did extensive freelance work before joining Green Hub.  I also attended basic photography and cinematography classes before this course. I have completed my Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia from Punjab Technical University and my Masters in Mass Communication from Gauhati University. At Green Hub however, I got the opportunity to go on shoots and be associated with projects from different places. I was a camera person and editor that worked making a film on elephants that were in Tezpur town. I have also got footage on tiger research in Assam and edited films on hornbills in Arunachal and flora and fauna in Mizoram. During these projects I worked with both Non-Government Organisations (such as Nature Conservation Foundation and Aaranyak) as well as the Forest Department (Dampa Tiger Reserve). In the process of learning how to edit, I got to learn with some well-known film makers such as Rita Banerjee, Gurmeet Sappal, Sanjay Bernela and Suresh Elamon. I have not only been the in-house editor of Green Hub for the last 10 months, but I have borne other responsibilities in the office as well.

Hi, I'm Wanmai Konyak

I am from Mon district in Nagaland.

I am from Mon district in Nagaland. I used to serve as a private teacher in my village – Changlanshu. I completed the Green Hub Fellowship in 2016, during which time I interned with Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) and Wildlife Institute of India (WII). As part of the internship with WTI, I made a film called “Securing the Kalapahar-Daigurung Elephant Corridor” which documented the relocation of Ram Terang village to be made into an elephant corridor. After the Fellowship, as part of Genesis4, I have been working on a series of films for Assam State Biodiversity Board (ASBB). These films focus on the documentation of traditional knowledge of the indigenous tribes of Assam.

I am a nature lover and thinker from Shillong

I have always been curious about wildlife from all across the world. This makes me an enthusiastic photographer and  filmmaker. My work has taken me to the high-altitudes of Zemithang to document the activities of WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) in the Community Conserve Area and I hope to go and explore more areas.

Hi, I'm Jimmy Johny Kujur

I am from Ziro in Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh.

Hi, I'm Tallo Anthony

I did my Bachelor of Arts from Rajiv Gandhi University in the capital city of Itanagar. But I cultivated a deep passion for wildlife when I worked as a contingency computer operator (2011-2015) with the Shergaon Forest Division. It was then that I developed an interest in photography and videography. I remember that I took the pain to learn the basics of the editing software Sony Vegas and Pinnacle Studio from Youtube so that I could make videos on our local festivals. Once I got into Green Hub, I too was part of the in-house editing team and learnt a lot from my mentors.

I have worked with Aaranyak, Eco-Systems India, Foundation for Ecological Security, Bhutan Glory Eco-Club, Wildlife Institute of India and Arunachal Pradesh Forest Department. My films have spanned diverse themes: from on-ground patrolling teams in Manas National Park to documenting wildlife camps for children around Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary and Fakim Wildlife Sanctuary. I have documented the life-history and threats that several species face: from the Asian elephant which is the largest land mammal that we have in India to the Pygmy hog which is the smallest wild pig species found in the wild.
